About:
One of the first pictures I received for the Soldier slide show. Jack seemed like someone I would have liked as a friend. I can see the honesty and commitment in his face. Our country was lucky to have him.

"I met Jack at the Seattle airport a few years ago when i flew there to meet up with my son who was on the same ship as Jack. My son introduced me to Jack and Rich as pop and when Jack shook my hand he said hi pop, I'm Jack. He had a big smile and i don't think I ever saw it go away as much as I was around him. I grew close to him and his family as if they were my own and i still think of him when I see my son. They were pretty close. Rest in peace Jack. You will never be forgotten"

"I would like to take a moment to say thank you to all of the warm and caring people that have left comments here for my late husband as well as for the children and I. Your kindness has touched me and my family deeply. Jack was a fine man, a loving and wonderful husband, and a proud Sailor. I am sure that the thoughts shared here have made their way to him as well as he stands watch for God now.... Sincerely, Teri L. Smith"
